For years I have been trying to locate this JC tutor of mine. He also happens to be our civics tutor.

He taught my class mathematics and his sincerity is most touching. He has helped us through some really rough times and have been there constantly available, encouraging us.

I still remembered how he was so frantic days before his wife was due to birth their first child. I still remembered how despite his personal commitments, he never falter once in being available to lend a helping hand or ear when us little rebellious ones conspire in private to boycott his lessons.

After I have sat for my A levels, he was transferred to a secondary school to become the head of department for mathematics and subsequently using his same sincerity touched much more students and had 100% passes in his cohort.

That I think is what makes a really good teacher - a teacher who despite all odds, never failed to believe in their students and urged them to perservere

Despite having been many years since my A levels, I have not forgotten how I wanted to say "Thank you" to him in person.

I did not managed to find him after my graduation and I only learnt about his post in the secondary school when I saw his familiar face in a friend's sister's graduation book. When I went to look for him at that secondary school, he was already not there.

On wednesday just passed, I saw him. Nothing stopped me from getting to him, although it was crowded and it was peak hours. I had to tell him "Thank You".

To tell the truth, I was so happy to see him, I almost cried!

I finally managed to tell him what I wanted to tell him and after the encounter, still buzzing from excitement, I had to sms my JC classmate, who also had fond memories of this teacher of ours.

even though her initial sms reply was " Im busy, say lar" to my act cute one " You never guess who i saw today!! Haha", she did not stopped sms-ing me when I told her it was our JC civics tutor.

I know it is too early for a teacher's day message, but if only the world is filled with such dedicated teachers, the world now would be a much better place.

Wont it be?

Again on the topic of booby traps.
My colleague and I was having this talk about boobies, after she viewed my blog, she told me that after she had given birth her breasts ballooned to a massive 90B O.O when she was a mere modest 70B usually.

FWAH!

And she said that when she was breastfeeding she ate like a man.

Woohoo!! Motherhood be blessed! kekeke!

Disclaimer: Me have got no golden water tap or gold plated peanuts to fund any deflamation lawsuits coming from any party and I really meant no malice. IF you think I do, then it must be medi-inflicted meanness. I am a really nice person.. trust me trust!

I just realised lately that a local artiste who have given birth not too long ago donning a pair of rather over sized assets. She who appeared in various advertisements advertising mommyhood neccessities, like milk powder and such, was reported having too much breast milk, she had extras to nurse her friends' babies.

Wah.. i mean how cool is that, the lucky baby gets to drink celebrity milk! But a tad gross too i thought..

Anyhow, my thoughts are not so much on who drinks her breast milk but at how amazingly her assets have grown. She was a self-proclaimed c cupper, now I wonder what her size have upscaled to!

It must have been a nuisance to deal the oversized assets, (speaking of which, Tyra banks is seen sporting a pair of exceptionally big pair of headlights in this episode of America's Next Top Model - loooks really crude can!) so to those who wanted to have their breasts upsized by means of natural or synthetic means, I hope you would reconsider before you regret it!

This local artiste was also reported to have complained in Her World mag, that she doesnt wish to have a pair of bigger breasts now that she's got them - probably finding them too heavy to carry them around?

*shrugs*

Michelle @ 11:09 PM |

haha.. so nice ley... after a friend read my blog brought me out to eat. Actually I also shamelessly advertised the fact that nobody is around to pamper me.. that's why i got pity keke.

Went to eat at Queentown, then went to Ikea walk walk, then come back wanna concuss after eating medi, but still wide awake.

Thus, watching america next big model ? what is the title ar ? haha the girls are either out of their minds or they are jusst trying hard to gain people's attention... went topless pole dancing at the hotel's pool haha!

crazy girls...

Michelle @ 10:36 PM |

I am sick ... got 2 days mc but nobody to pamper me!
*not fair not fair!!* stomp stomp leg, jump jump jump**-

I love it~
Not to mention Ewan mcgregor is one of my favourite actor.. I think he is so cute looking! and he's got a really wonderful scottish accent in the movie.

Scarlett johannasen is such a sex siren, you would ultimately be so turned on even if you dont like the movie, you would be hypnotised by her sizzling sex appeal to give it 2 thumbs and big toes up! ;P

Watched the movie yesterday and had to pay the exorbitant price of $9.50 to view it. Thought it would be one of those lamer shows, however, I find the story plot to be very real indeed. You see, I thought it was one of those clones movie with weak story line, just pretty faces to ogle at. I was pleasantly surprised when the movie begins and had me sitting at the edge of my seat wondering what is going to happen next.

It has a really griping plot, is fast paced, thought provoking, ethics questioning movie. You havent seen this kind of movie in a very long long time.

I give it two thumbs up!

Go watch and be sucked into the action now!

Just in the news two nights ago, they are going to lower the initial cash deposits for the hdb flat from 10 % to 5% now.

Will that mean I wil be getting married soon? I dont know yet, probably.. but am still too poor to afford a flat on my own. *sighz*

Michelle @ 9:21 AM |

Tuesday, July 19, 2005

yes I have been doing that thing again - shopping.

I am fast turning into a shopaholic queen. -.-;;;

Thankfully, (although I sulked for a period of time) my dad did not managed to subscribe to a sub-platinium card for me, because he has maxed his number of subs. I wanted that card v badly, not because I can spend more, but because it has got wonderful holiday discounts - which comes very handy when the travel bug bites me.

Anyhow, back to the topic. I bought myself a toumaline ring to match my toumaline chandelier earrings. ^.^ Actually I am thinking Im quite a compulsive shopper. I bought the ring even though its the only one left and it doesnt quite come in my size. But then again I have never worn a ring on my thumb before, so let this be the first.

the more I looked at it, the more I love it!

Then ah... I bought a amethyst pendant =X, a jade bracelet (not the traditional round band one lar!), then I bought another pendant (imported from Italy) in 18K white gold and rose gold - its some kind of designer piece =X too! I have laid my eyes on a matching bracelet also.. but I cannot afford it. Dunno why bracelets are more expensive than necklaces -.-

Hee!!!!!

Can somebody stop me please?

This is a photo I found of my opal ring.. nice hor!!

I havent wore any of the items I bought previously, with the exception of my peridot ring, which symbolises happiness - I wear it everyday!

Michelle @ 8:17 PM |

I have always had a huge interest in things of the occult. Many of my christian friends would probably frown upon my confession. Well, I'm still good ol' me. Probably even before you knew me, I probably have already had my fill of these stories (fact or fiction) up to my ears.

I love reading horoscopes from young, I love mythologies, magic movies depicting witches etc etc.

However, I draw the line at practicing voodoo and witchcraft of course.. but dont you find such occult practices and beliefs mystifying? Start telling me a story about the Greek Gods or Goddesses, you would definitely have my fullest attention.

I am very intrigued when I read any books on these subjects. At a time, I even wondered if I was a witch. A weirdo person I knew once (I no longer know where this person is, he claimed he cannot live pass age 33), who claimed that he can remember the past, told me that I killed her sister (-.-!!!). I dont know if that was true, but it had affected me for some time.

Anyhow, lately I have dipping my feet and hands in Fengshui. Fengshui is not a religion, merely a way of life. It has also helped to me to reaffirm my chinese roots - for Fengshui practices orgin from long ago China.

So far, it has helped me put into perspective how many things happen and how I may help enhance my life as a whole.

I have also come to appreciate certain auspicious symbols like the double happiness symbols, the gigantic "fuk luk sau" in my living room, and even the mandarin ducks for conjugal bliss.

That's why when a friend of mine got married, I even try to persuade her to decorate her bedroom with such symbols but she said it was too cheena.

Frankly speaking, I do think it would help to solidify the union of two persons or rather pave obstacles aside and make the passage smoother.

If you had asked me three years ago to place such ornaments in my bedroom or even appreciate the "fuk Luk Sau" in my living room, I probably tell you " Go fly a kite!"

I have tried putting these practices into my life and so far, it has worked mighty well for me. I have also influenced my darling to accept some of these influences, and so far I might also add, that it has helped him advert a near death situation lately.

I do not know how it worked, but it has indeed worked for me and some of my friends who are also starting to implement fengshui into their lives.

Believing that fengshui worked for you doesnt mean that you need to decorate your homes to look like a temple. Fengshui is the placement and use of things at a specific location to suppress the luck or activating the luck. I am also more attuned to my surroundings, which is also elemental to one's wellbeing.

I dont know if you would try it, but I can talk hours on the subject. Let's not bore you but if you are interested in the topic, just drop me a line. You never know how it might help you.

Am playing with the new camera dad bought a few months ago. Exploring the super macro angle, quite good i thought. Nice picture?

Michelle @ 6:32 PM |

My ideal job is to be a camera critic.

Then all camera companies would loan me with their latest gadgets for an unstipulated amount of time, so that I may explore the functions of each and everyone properly.

And in the meantime, I shall use these cameras to take as many photos as possible, be the camwhore of all camwhores, I shall photoblog my life and then credit the camera company on my blog.

Therefore creating the best form of advertisement, one that is tried and tested by a commoner, not by a professional.

Every now and then I would get a new camera to play around with and I can expand my photo archives by huge album fulls instead of only pathetic 3 Cd-roms full.

I will venture to take landscapes, still life, buildings, adults, weddings, animals, children and many more.

Is there such a job available? if so, kindly contact me.

I would love to be paid doing something I adore doing.

Enquire within for a detailed copy of resume...

Not the best of all pictures taken of the book, but guess it would have to make do. an inspirational read, probably a must-have for everyone who have been losing faith in the constant changes we are facing. Easy to read, even easier to understand. Go read it, it might help you be a better person..

I can never get enough of the influx of information rolling out from the papers.

In TNP today, they were talking about how the NKF staff gave strict orders to artistes in their yearly nkf shows to look serious, sad and " cry on command".

While I do know that the shows were to pull your heart strings and therefore be conned into calling their 1900 hotline number.. I just make it harder to swallow to admit that we have been made a fool of.

Since this year, I have only made 3 calls even though they have staged like 5 shows so far ?

After a while, you just became immune to all those unpleasant looking needles being stuck onto the patients while they are undergoing dialysis or chemotherapy.

And for helping them deceived us folks, mediacorp artistes too do not deserve pity from us, the folks they have helped deceived for the past few years.

I am on MC today.

Suffered from a sprained muscle on the shoulder or was it the neck that affected the shoulder?

Never you mind.. anyhow... so painful that I cannot take off my clothes this morning, so i just did not go to work today.

went to Thomson road to look for my Shen yi (miracle doctor) but only to discover she is not opened for business yet. On friday she is only opened at 1pm. *grrrrrrrrrrr* wasted my cab fare.

So i went back home.

Went back to her clinic again at 1Pm, only to see a long queue forming already. waited for a short time before i was called into a room filled with 3 other women. one woman was already taking her top off -.-;;;

later that woman who was in a state of undress, was called to go to another room, and then the doctor came in.

She looked at each of our ailments ( one of the woman was there for weightloss acupuncture) and started on me first. I think my ailment is one of the most common and therefore simplest.

So there I go lie down on the bed, without having to take off my clothes. And one needle after needle, she began inserting to my v frail body.

I lost count after the 11th needle. Soon, she began inserting somemore onto my right hand right in front of my eyes, and then went off a while only to return with a electronic device.

I am feeling faint already at the thought.. after a while, she started clipping onto the needles and sent electric current through the needles into the body.

I think it is kinda sadistic to tell u I pretty much welcome the electric current for it was soothing to the aches on the shoulder blade. But after the stipulated time, and I was still left there on the bed to "rot", it became very uncomfortable.

After that a senior lady came in to remove the needles for me and then starting to ask me remove my top and lie on my stomach.

She began to swiftly remove the bra clasp, push the straps to the side and pour some kind of oil on my back. it seem quite blissful at first until she started to rub each and every part of your back very forcefully.

then she burnt some wool and put some cup-like thingy on your back.. creating those popping sounds. Very painful for the hot air in the glass cups become suction and stick onto your bare back before she pulled them out. PAIN!!!!!!!!

more painful than acupuncture can!

after that the sensei came in and did thehead turning thingie before i was asked to proceed to counter for payment

after that very painful experience I was asked to pay $38 to them for torturing me.

In the end I still have to go to the clinic to get a medical certificate to certify that I am unsuitable for work. Another $40 cos doctor also prescribed painkillers.

Sigh.. my horoscope this month very the zhun.

Thursday, July 14, 2005

Drama-tic few days it has been in the papers these days.

All that NKF saga unfolding and alas! how can they use our donations for 12 month bonuses for a man who told lies to lead the public into believing that their reserves is only capable of supporting their patients for 3 years when it was sufficient to sustain them for 40 years?!

There were times when I was broke and really broken, and yet I donated generously to the hotline (duped too because the hotline number flashed during the variety show was the one that pays for like 5 calls therefore $25 per call) I called 3 times on each of my mobile, that costs me like $75 X 2. Apart from that, there's the handling fee that costs me like additional dunno how many cents.

All these I done willingly thinking that it was for the good of the many who were unfortunate enough to contract the rich man's disease. I was just doing my little part for them.

I even vehemently cursed privately at people who tried to flame the organisation for its charitable work.

Now I know the truth and I applauded the reporter who so bravely revealed the truth to us. We as common citizens should be made known of how our donations are being used.

For the many years I have donated to the hotline, most of it while I was in between jobs and really in need of money, I had thought that these money would go to the needy, that's why I donated.

Now i really know.. it went to somebody who had 12 month bonus per year even though we commoners were out of job, very nearly out of dough, and up to our neck in debts.

Others argued that for a man who managed a 200mill premise, 600k is peanuts, I asked that person to try living in our shoes.

Nkf is a charitable organisation, it is not a profitable organisation! I deem it necessary to be transparent handling of our funds.

I have stopped donating to ticket charities because I was told each volunteers are actually paid a sum of money for each booklet of tickets sold.

For days after the nkf show and while I was anticipating the huge bill, I have lived miserly trying to find ways to stretch my dollar while I was still in between jobs. Often feeling the shame of not being financially independent and having to depend on family for one's daily meals. I also could not go out as often, for transport was not exactly cheap in little Singapore, one trip out would probably costs me more than $10 a day. There is also the problems of providing for my 5 hamsters and 2 dogs, whose expenses sometimes far much exceeded my own. Finally the uncertainty of whether I would be able to find a job in the near future.

Evidently, while I was stressing my little brains out on how to survive, there's somebody enjoying in his private office room, probably smoking a cigar and admiring his gold-plated tap/sink or what not.

And there you are trying to tell me not to be angered by him/the organisation?!

I cant help but be disgusted by the fact that even a charitable organisation is capable of such deceit, and one that is even supported by a minister's wife.

To think NKF has garnered so much support and publicity overseas because of its huge success - which much of it being attributed to by its blatant lies, making use of the public's sympathy.

I dread to think what the population would do, when other charitable organisations start to ask for funds.

When other charitable organisations start to fall short of funds, I think probably it is time to claim some back from mr. t.t. Durai.

There has been much changes since I last went to Bintan.
Bintan, a mere 45 minto 1 hr ferry ride away from Little red dot Singapore is a favourite haunt of mine. I used to go there 4 times in a year, making me almost a tour guide to the little rustic weekend getaway hideout.

I love the trainquilty, the feeling of not being hurried, not being contactable, of absolutely wanton freedom to just spend time lazing and wasting time. Definitely a must go when you need to unwind.

I love the sea breeze and I love the ability to float effortlessly ( there's higher salt content, thus you are very float-able), I love to be able to swim among the fishes, to catch fishes during low tide, to watch hermit crabs.

In fact, I think I have painted it to be such a lovely place, you must go there and see it for yourself. (damn it.. the nirwana Pr must pay me!) haha!

However these days there are much changes to the place, probably because frequent travellers to the area must have found the area lacking after such frequent visits. The changes are evident from the ferry terminal.

Ah.. here I am once again at bintan Ferry terminals.. awaiting my hotel ferry to ferry me to hotel. Most Bintan-ians are hospitable lot. Afterall, its how they earn money for their daily lives. Evident in their mascot, a wide tooth local grinning at you upon your arrival at the ferry terminal.

A mega big statue of an eagle awaits us at the exit of the ferry terminal.. although it looked majestic, somehow, I gather that's not very good fengshui. You feel as if the eagle is pecking away at you.. how good can that be?

Checked in and got upgraded to deluxe seaView - no extra charge! Absolutely delightful!!

Check out the beautiful pool.. no photoshop on the photos here! all rawly downloaded from the camera. And since my camera contracted that dreadly pms-al disease, its a wonder these photos turn out marvelously well.

The pool comes in shallow (baby) medium and deep. In the midst of it is a poolside bar, 1/2 sunken so that swimmers can grab a quick bite or a little cocktails there if you are tired of lazing around, suntanning or after a little jacuzzi.

Photos from the beach, I became v facinated with coconut trees since that's probably one of the other thing u find in abundance other than water and white soft sand.

Some picture of the sandy white beaches beckoning with very very clear water. Saw a really huge fish like 2 of my palms fitted together looking like a discus. But it swam away after i started shouting and running on the spot. =P

My lunch on the second day, nasi lemak.. the cheapest lunch u can find. Doesnt taste too bad for $3 and iced indonesia mocha coffee for $3.50 that tasted quite heavenly on a scorching hot day!

.

We ate at this cafe called Dino's bistro, cos Dino the Iguana lives there, but he was nowhere sighted that day. PRobably hiding underneath the rock with the two land tortoises that lived with him.

Dino Bistro comes with a little cafe and a wine corner. Cafe sell all sort of bread, cakes, coffee tea, mocktails, finger food and italian food. Wine corner, as the name says, sells alcohol.

And at the side of it, sited the Warung Asmara - an outlet of the Asmara Spa where you can get footsie, head, neck and shoulders massage for $25 per service.

Sunset in Bintan, second day when we were waiting for our ferry. We did not managed to get the earlier time slot, so we left on the second last trip we left at Singapore's time, 7.30 and reached home at 9pm+.

That's a picture of our ferry approaching the terminal. After the arriving guest
alight from the ferry, we board it for our return trip home.

Haha, guess who we saw when we came back? Nadya Hutalagung and latest squeeze with a little kid in toll. LAtest Squeeze caught us trying to take papparazzi pix, volunteered himself out to Q for Nadya and kid. Managed to squeeze this v blur pix out from my camera which refused to function *sighz*

This is the book that I am reading right now. Very amusing and reminded me of my growing up years and the funny things that I did. It mentioned how a hyperactive child was given her own space and time to learn and subsequently conform to the societal rules and norms not through constant scoldings and punishment but through her own experience. A very engaging read despite the very easy vocabulary. highly recommended for those who are in teaching line ( to recharge your passion for teaching), those who are would be parents, those who simple love children and finally anyone who wanted to see how naughty they were when they were growing up.

I identified myself in her... I must have caused my mother lots of grief. I have yet to finish the book, but I started this week and I only read for an hour a day, I have about 1/4 of the book left.

Please be warned, you might attract curious glances from the public if you are going to be reading this book in public. You probably can't help but laugh out loud when you read about her experiments and trials.

Try it, you wont regret it!

Aerdna wanted to see this photo of my own earrings from Topshop. Saw it before i saw the price. When I finally saw the price, I held onto it for dear life =P But now i am beginning to wonder how many people owes the same pair of earrings as me... =/ But its a good buy aint it? *grinz*

While I like the designs of this earrings, I think It cnanot be compared to the one I bought for my sister. They are of different leagues.

Mine's mostly nickel, glass beads and plastic beads, hers are all the real mccoys - silver plated with white gold, Amethyst, pearls and aquamarine.

well.. for its price i just had to buy it.. =P

Lots of photos please be patient!!

Saturday was boring..
I can't even remember where I went...
Oh! Okie.. went to Adam's Road hawker centre to eat Prawn Noodles without MSG.
Damn good!! Must try okie! It damn worth your while to try and it has got a "A" rating for cleaniness in food preparation!

I dont think the nasi lemak there is nice.. i think its just normal.. so i dont get what is the big deal about it even though there always seem to be a huge long q for it.

I love the kampeng (mutton) soup sold there, mutton's tender while the soup just simply heavenly.. if you dig those stuff. For only $3 per bowl!

fruit juice at only $1.50 each for watermelon and starfruit juice. yum!

did not take pictures there cos it was too crowded and I got annoyed because the cleaner refuses to clean up the tables first, resulting in me eating on a dirty table. YUCKS!

After that proceeded over Zion Riverside HAwker CEntre for my favourite Almond Jelly Longan Desert.

AFter that went back home to nap.

We left home for MArina South only to be detoured because of the international olympic convention being held at RAffles City. See all cars parking in RAffles City have to be checked by the police men. Also Tanks were spotted.

After all, all the big names are in Singapore this weekend. Bill gates is in Singapore, so are many of the VIPs in other countries running for Olympic hosting 2012. If you did not know yet, david beckham and wifey also in town. *sniggers*

Dinner time went to Marina South for some food and breeze to only find out that the place has been barricaded for development.. so cannot see the sea -.-
Since already there, went to play arcade games... there's this one.. law enforcer 4.. japanese game.. damn happening and fun. BUt I think the games there are a little too expensive than normal. $2 per game!

HAd dinner at Thomson Longhouse! MY favourite herbal soup stall, minced pork mushroom noodles and western food all located here! *slurps*

Ate western food though.
Look at the mouthwatering pictures! All set meals here comes with soup of the day with a slice of garlic bread! super yummy. LAst nite's soup was Mushroom Soup! My
favourite!

.

I'd be fat i know!

Sunday Quite happening!!

Wanted to indulge in shopping again.. since the sales is still on.. but changed my mind after seeing the crowd.

so went to car show instead.

All the camera wielding men flock to wherever the japanese RQs are to take pictures of them.. I did not lose out also took some..

Gave my bf permission to take photos with them but he did not want.. why ah.. so weird hor... kekekeke must be secretly hoping that I am not around loh! kekeke

Some really mean looking machines and some really beautiful gorgeous ones...=D~

Some really fudgly ones also.... who in the right frame of mine will paste such a fucking ugly picture of a dragon on its otherwise beautiful car?!
