During my Psychology Class today, my tutor asked us to bring a magazine and find pictures that represented 4 main factors in shaping our lives.
These group of people falls mainly into the category of Family/Parents, Teachers, Friends and Others.

So, there I was armed with the Lifestyle Magazine from May start flipping through the pages armed with my scissors and began cutting away.

For the first category of Family/Parents, I chose a picture of food. It is actually a plate of very spicy seafood. Reason being, my family's love for food and spicy food at that.

When young, we were taught to eat Spice, in fact, I can hardly live without spices. Also, like the dish of seafood, we are family, but each with a character of its own.

Of course, the main characteristics of the dish, is the spiciness, we are people with very set principles and strong characteristics. Thus, our tempers are also on the hotter side.

Also because of the fact that we are particular about the preparation of food, in order for it to taste well, you have to use your heart to cook it and use the best ingredients, never do it the short cut way. With this, I would like to think that we have been taught well by parents and they have given us the best they could, therefore we turned out well.

And because I love seafood, you can also say that I love my family!

For the Category of Friends, I used pictures of different plates of condiments.
Friends come in all kinds. There are condiments that are spicy, there are those that are salty, there are also those that are sour.

So if I am the dish, I would need the condiments to make me taste better. For most parts, my friends had helped to keep me in check, being there for me and they compliment me in ways I have never thought possible before. so there you go. Thus, without friends, I am probably tasteless too.

Under Others, I choose a picture of a ruins of Cambodia. I think travelling has opened up my eyes to many things that we have not experienced in Singapore. Therefore, it has helped me be a better and wiser person hopefully. Of course, it also serves to remind me that my experiences are not whole and that somebody else might have seen more and know more. That keeps me humble and sane.

For the category of Teachers, I have got a picture of a man having a headache. Reason being very simple. Most of the teachers I remembered are the notorious ones - those that gives you a headache! Like Miss. Solastry who had a relationship with one of the student called Lionel. (world wide news ah! even my sister knew about it!) asked me to do 10 times push ups because I happened to bump into her when I went to the toilet in the middle of the lesson at the corridor in secondary school. That stupid Miss Goh, now called Mrs. Yeo (and i hope you have rolled back to Malaysia where you belong!!) who would come into class with her PMS-al mood swings and tried to make things difficult for me to which I rebutted her loudly in front of the whole class one fine day because I think she is being ANAL! + she caused one of my classmates to drop out of school in Secondary 3! I hate her manz!

Of course, there are good ones but at the time of cutting the pictures, I only remembered the bad ones =P tee hee hee

So there you have it, my life story!
what pictures would you use to depict the influence these 4 major groups of people had in your life?
