Was just wondering about the intricacies of life.

How one when borned was the apple of most people's eye, and soon you outgrow that and develop your own personality and set of characteristics that either endear you to some or obstracised you from the rest.

How one's set of priorities changes as one ages.
How we adore our parents when younger. I thought my dad was superman because he was capable of all things superb, like being santa claus when he doesnt exist at all. Nonetheless, he gave me much happy memories of my childhood.

How ties with your parents become less important and you have your set of friends.
How some ties with parents are even strained because of influence of bad company.

Its just that in one's life we are dealt with so many choices and paths to choose. Some through sheer luck or with blessings from the one above (whomever you might be
) choose the right path and have a blessed journey thorughout life and some who needed some trials and tribulations in order to get back to the correct path and how some who are not at all so lucky, lived a life in tenterhooks and misery.

How do one gauge if one have been successful in one's life? What contribute to having lived life to the fullest and how many of us actually lived life to fullest?
Do you determine how sucessful you are ...
By how far you climb on the corporate ladder?
By the type of car or apartment you lived in?
By the type of pets that you own?
by the type of branded goods you carry?
Or by the credit balance in your bank account?

Arent all these just superficialities?

dont we return to dust when its time for us to abandon our human shell?
Do we then get to bring all these things away with us?

Then why do so many people live in misery when they cannot achieve those material needs.

I personally think that as long as your most basic needs are being met, there's not much to worry about.

What will come will eventually come, what you are destined to have, you will have. Why go about achieving something that would bring you misery and not happiness?

why go about wasting precious time chasing all things superficial and therefore missing out on the beauty of what life brings and the joy of spending time with your loved ones?
