Finished reading this book last night, something i borrowed from a friend of mine. Done it cover to back cover in less than a day?

Interesting, although it doesnt cover in details the things she did during her reign, but still provides an insight into the politicking that goes on in the imperial palace during the olden dynasties.

For those of you who are not familiar with Chinese History, Empress Wu (武则天)is the one and only female emperor in the history of china - no mean feat seeing that china is such a chauvinistically male dominated country until today.

In the book written by Master Lilian Too, she speaks of how Empress Wu, struggles to be who she was, a shrewd, intelligient, ruthless ruler who brought her subjects much woes and her lands much prosperity who first enters the royal palace at the tender age of fourteen to be a concubine.

A very fast paced book, but for those of you who would wanted to know more about china's historical woman and the power she wields during her reign would be sorely disappointed.
