These days newspaper are filled with splashes and splotches of political titbits, with the opposition trying to defile the government in their feeble attempt to win votes. *roll eyes* how lame can they get? And the government trying to right things again by providing concrete proof about so and so. Throwing out lawsuits blah blah..

Then there's also the media doing what they could to add fuel to the fire, by mentioning in no unclear details what who did wrong blah blah.. I shall not talk about the exact details, since it is already written so clearly in the newspapers these days. Its orgasmic! Go read okie!

Then I suddenly recalled one fine night when I was younger.. my dad will bring me to these places where they hold rallies to listen hours after hours what the contestants will talk about. While I was young and did not understood all the political jargons and whatnots, my dad will stand rooted to the ground with his arms folded listening intently about what they have to say. It must have been a really electrifying speech for we will be there until all the uncles dispersed.
Then dad will good humourly bring bored and possibly very frustrated mommy sitting on the newspapers behind daddy and us 3 imps to mcdonalds for some ice cream in his cute little hatchback.

Ah.. that will appease us but i dont know about mommy. tee hee!

Then I recalled some years ago, when I was still very ignorant and shunned the topic of politics, there was this very emotional and tense counting of votes at the Cheng San CC. I can't remember why it was so tense, like I say I dont bother at that time, but the live commentary rooted me to the google box until the votes have been counted and results announced.

I marvel the changes in my interest these days. While I do not possibly pour over every single word the newspaper report about, I will listen to the news. I will too listen to the May Day speech and in turn humming to Solidarity Forever~ I will too listen to the NAtional Day speech because it so concern our livelihood!

And I discovered I do have this avid interest in politics despite my ignorance many years before. Perhaps there is indeed this herditary influence that come from my dad... haha!

I too read in the forums about how foreigners being given the chance to live in good ol' sg, praising the uncorrupt government and paying tribute to their contributions to make 3rd world us some 40 years before to 1st world us now.

I always wonder why the youngsters do not appreciate the properity in Sg and always flame the government.

I also do not stop to wonder why the youngsters think that education is a chore when we in Sg, has the highest number of educated citizens as compared to our counterparts in SE-Asia. Something that will stand us in good stead when we are put to the test with our neighbours and the rest of the world.

I also appraise the fact that our astute government do not give out dough to the unemployed, for i believe, everybody must work for their own living. Look at Aussie's employed, they pay a high rate of tax only to have their hard earned moolahs re-distributed to the unemployed. Is that fair to you? I thank the lord and whoever up there is looking out for me, that I am not faced with this situation.

I too appreciate the fact that when the need arises, I can count on our police force, not to help kitties down the tree, but to catch the villians. I can also count on our police force not to be corrupt because of the harsh penalties in place. Unlike some unnamed neighbour whose police will stop your car for some petty issues which is outside of their jurisdiction, just so they can enjoy some kopi-money.

All in all, I do hope that there are voters out there who think in the same line as me and cross out their polling card the correct manner and not cross out the wrong picture. -.-

REad the instructions carefully...
Or I will hamtam you if we lose out seats to the opposition.
